WHACK!
She fell on her back
And banged her head off of the sink!

OUCH! she cried loudly and tried not to cry
Whilst clutching her head and her knee
When Fuzzy arrived
Poor Bizzy just cried
"Oh please go and fetch Mrs Bee!!"

As Fuzzy ran off to tell Mrs Bee
Poor Bizzy sat down on a chair
Her tears hit the floor
As her head was so sore
This was awful! It just wasn't fair!

Mrs Bee soon arrived, with her medicine bag
And gave the sore Bizzy a hug
Some potion of red
That would help her sore head
And some flowers from her friend Ladybug.

Now Bizzy's all better, and out and about
There's something she wanted to say......
Thanks to all of her friends
She was fine in the end
But beware ,YOU could have a bad day!!!!!!

Uncle McBuzz had been working all day to get everything in the Clubhouse ready for the big night.

"Ooh! I'm really excited!" said Bizzy.
"Me too!" replied Fuzzy, and they both ran to Mrs Bee's shop to meet with their friends.

Everyone was in Mrs Bee's shop, drinking juice and chattering excitedly.
"This is going to be great!" cackled Bazzil.
Bazzil saw the Spooky Halloween party as the perfect opportunity to be his usual naughty self.
Fuzzy and Chewy were discussing what time to meet and Mrs Bee made an announcement.
"Everyone! everyone!" Mrs Bee clapped her hands to get their attention.
"As you all know, tonight will be the Spooky Halloween party at the Clubhouse. Uncle McBuzz and I will be there from 7.00pm onwards.
There will be a prize for the spookiest costume and there will also be plenty to eat and drink. Thankyou".

Buzzy looked at the big clock in the shop and saw that it was 4.30pm.
Plenty of time to get ready! Buzzy was dressing as a goblin. He thought his costume was cool, and the makeup he was going to use would make him unrecognisable. He couldn't wait!

Soon, it was time for the party to begin, and one by one The Beezles and their friends began to arrive at the Clubhouse.

Mrs Bee and Uncle McBuzz were waiting at the door and were very pleased to see all the colourful costumes. This was going to be a very hard competition!
Bizzy had come as a mermaid and her costume was very pretty. Mrs Bee had made a little slit at the bottom of the fishtail dress, so that Bizzy could walk.
She had a little sea shell bracelet and matching necklace and a special sequined bikini top that Mitzi the hairdresser had lent her.
Buzzy was looking very green indeed! He had on a green goblin costume with a goblin hat and had a false nose and had painted his face green!
He looked very good indeed!
Bazzil had come as a ghost. He had a white sheet over his head with two little holes so that he could see. He floated around the clubhouse with the white sheet trailing on the floor. Everyone was very afraid!!
Uncle McBuzz chuckled as the residents of Honeycombe Hill filled the hall.
He could almost guess who everyone was, but there was one character he could not figure out.
It was a dalek! Whoever had made this costume had done a very good job.

Mrs Bee put on some music and everyone danced and laughed.
She then announced that there was food and drink on the table at the back of the hall, and that everyone could help themselves.

The Beezles were having a ball! This really was great fun and they were loving the lemonade which Mrs Bee had named "Bat juice" and all of the fancy halloween food.
Soon it was time for the parade, and Uncle McBuzz put the lights up.
Everyone had to parade in a circle and Mrs Bee, Uncle McBuzz and some visitors from the other gardens were going to do the judging.

There was a first , second and third prize and as everyone had done a really good job, there were no losers as Uncle McBuzz gave them all a halloween lollipop.

"Mrs Bee we have had such a great time!" said Buzzy.
Mrs Bee laughed and patted Buzzy's head.
"You look very green Buzzy, are you going to be sick?" and they both laughed until they ached.

As The Beezles and their friends headed back to their little houses, Uncle McBuzz locked the clubhouse door and chuckled once more to himself.
This had been a funny party and he was happy as everyone had fun.

Have you ever had a spooky halloween party?

See you next time!!

It no longer looked smart.
She had threatened to put ribbons in his hair and the other Beezles had laughed.

"I'm a boy!" Buzzy exclaimed. "Boy's don't wear ribbons in their hair!!"
"Well your hair is long enough for ribbons Buzzy" said Mrs Bee, and she promptly rang the mobile hairdresser to visit Honeycombe Hill.

The hairdresser's name was Mitzy. Mitzy was a very good hairdresser and everyone liked her. She always smelt like shampoo and she talked the whole time she was cutting hair.
Mitzy had a special gown which she put on her customers to stop the cut hair from landing on their clothes.
She had spoken to Mrs Bee on the telephone and was looking forward to seeing everyone on Honeycombe Hill.
Mitzy packed her little car with all the things that she needed.
Scissors, comb, brush, gown, shampoo, and a large broom for sweeping the hair from the floor.

Bizzy and Fuzzy were excited. They adored Mitzy! She always had lots of stories to tell and she knew all about fashion and lip gloss and jewellery.
"Oh I'm so excited!" said Bizzy. "Mitzy will be here soon and she might even bring us some of her old magazines to read!"
Fuzzy giggled. "I'm going to ask her to curl my hair today. I want to look really pretty"

Just then Mitzy arrived in her little van.
Fuzzy and Bizzy, Bazzil and Zubby, Chewy and Buzzy, all sat in Mrs Bee's shop waiting.
"Helloooo!" called Mitzy. "How are you all?"
Everyone ran to Mitzy and shook her hand. Bizzy and Fuzzy gave her a hug.
"Who's first then?" asked Mitzy.
Bazzil said he'd be first and sat on the chair in Mitzy's van.

The chair swivelled and Bazzil began to spin round and round.
Mitzy laughed.
"Bazzil I can't cut your hair if you are spinning!".
Bazzil scowled and sat still as Mitzy put the gown around him.
As Mitzy snipped at Bazzil's hair, little curls landed on the floor at her feet. She'd use her broom to sweep them up when she'd finished cutting everyone's hair.

Soon everyone had had their hair cut and Fuzzy had her hair curled.
"Oh my! you all look so smart!" exclaimed Mrs Bee. "Thankyou Mitzy!"

Mitzy asked Fuzzy and Bizzy if they'd like to help her tidy up, and they both were very happy to do so.
"Mitzy, do you have any old magazines that we can have please?" asked Fuzzy.
"Oh yes! I've got four here, so that's two each"
Bizzy and Fuzzy were delighted!
"Thankyou Mitzy" they said together.
Mitzy then opened her bag and produced some perfume.
"Would you girls like a little spray of my perfume?"
Bizzy and Fuzzy squealed in delight!
Mitzy then gave them both a little of her lip gloss and told them to remember to wash it off before bedtime.

The girls were so happy! Mitzy really was so nice to them and made them feel like real girls.

As Mitzy drove away from Honeycombe Hill, everyone waved goodbye.
"Mrs Bee" said Fuzzy. "when will Mitzy be back again?"
Everyone laughed!

Shoo!" and with that, Mrs Bee had gone back into the shop to carry on with her work.

Buzzy kicked at a stone.
"I'm bored bored bored!" he moaned.
"Me too" said Bazzil.
"And me!" said Zubby.

Bizzy sighed. There must be something they could do.
"Shall we visit Millie the Mouse?" Bizzy said eagerly.
Everyone shook their heads.
"Well, what about the Ladybugs? I'm sure they'd be delighted to see us" said Bizzy.
"The Ladybugs are on a trip" said Buzzy, "I saw them leave earlier on".

The swing that Zubby was swinging on squeaked.
"We could oil the swings!" said Bazzil. Bazzil liked doing messy things!

"I've got an idea " said Bizzy. "Just wait there a second till I ask Mrs Bee if it's alright".

The Beezles waited while Bizzy went into the shop.
She came out ten minutes later with a very large box.
"What's that?" asked Fuzzy.
"We are going to make a patchwork quilt!" said Bizzy. "Mrs Bee has given me all her scraps of material and some old buttons and pom poms and things".
"Ooo!" squeaked Fuzzy "I like making things!".

Everyone sat in a circle on the grass and began to take things from the box. There were scraps of velvet and linen, bits of lace and frills, pom poms and buttons and crystals. There were lots of exciting things in the box and soon The Beezles were very busy indeed.!

Mrs Bee watched from the window of her little shop and smiled to herself. Her little friends were not bored now!

Bizzy and her friends worked nearly all afternoon, having fun and sharing ideas about how to make the patchwork quilt look lovely.
"There now. I'll just finish stiching on this little piece of cotton, and the quilt will be complete".

Everyone stood back and looked at the quilt, which was spread out on the grass. It looked wonderful and The Beezles felt very pleased with themselves. They had each embroidered their names into a section of the quilt and were going to surprise Mrs Bee and give her the quilt as a gift.
Mrs Bee was always doing things for them, so they wanted to do something nice for her.

"Mrs Bee! Mrs Bee!" called Buzzy.
"Hello Buzzy!" Mrs Bee replied from the shop door.
"Come and see what we've done!"
Mrs Bee wiped her hands on her apron and walked to where The Beezles were waiting.
"Oh my! What a beautiful quilt! Did you do this all by yourselves?" she asked. Mrs Bee studied the quilt with a keen eye. It really was quite lovely.
"Yes Mrs Bee" said Zubby shyly.
"We did it for you!" said Bizzy and she handed the quilt to Mrs Bee.
"It will look lovely on your bed" said Fuzzy.

Mrs Bee had a little tear in her eye as she hugged each and every one of the Beezles. What a lovely thing to do!

"Thankyou all very much. I shall treasure this forever", and The Beezles beamed with pride.

Today had turned out not so boring after all!

Bizzy read the whole notice out in a very loud voice.
There was a buzz of excitement. A Club House! This was going to be fantastic!
Mrs Bee came to the door of the shop.
"Calm down everyone!" she said as she help up her hands.
"Give me two minutes to get my coat and we shall go to the Club House and have a look around"

Everyone followed Mrs Bee down the garden path to where the Club House was.
There was Bizzy and Buzzy,Zubby and Bazzil, Chewy and Fuzzy, all of the ladybugs, even Millie the mouse had turned up! The songbirds twittered above the excited chatter of the residents of Honeycombe Hill.
As they arrived at the Club House, Mrs Bee met up with Uncle McBuzz.
"Phew!" said Mrs Bee, "I've never seen them so excited! Not since we had the swing park built!".
Uncle McBuzz laughed so much his fat tummy shook.
"Well, we'd better let them in then" he said laughingly.

Mrs Bee took the key from her bag, and opened the door.
"Now remember everyone, some of the paint might still be a little sticky!"
The Beezles and their friends walked round the shed admiring everything that Mrs Bee and Uncle had done.
"We still need a few bookshelves and accessories, but everything will be ready for tomorrow night." smiled Mrs Bee.

Bizzy clapped her hands and squeezed Buzzy's arm.
"Ooo! Im so excited! This is wonderful!"
"Let go! you;re hurting my arm!" laughed Buzzy.

The Ladybugs were chattering non stop and they too were very excited about the new Club House.

Now, in the evenings if it's cold and wet, The Beezles and their friends have a club to visit.

Watch out for stories of the activities in the Club House!

Mrs Bee had thought a Club House would be good for the Beezles. Especially in the Winter when it was too cold to play outside.
It would mean that everyone could learn to write their name, and read books, and make all sorts of bric a brac.
They could play indoor games, do some painting and learn a little each week about different countries and such like.

Together, Mrs Bee and Uncle McBuzz decided that the old wooden shed was ideal. Uncle McBuzz would do all the repair work, and Mrs Bee would do the cleaning.

The first thing that Uncle and Mrs Bee had to do, was to clear out the shed. There was lots of junk and broken things in there, but they carried on working till the job was done.
Mrs Bee then cleaned the inside of the shed till it sparkled, and Uncle McBuzz began painting the outside. He chose white paint for the walls. green paint for the roof and red paint for the door.
Next he painted in big blue letters, CLUBHOUSE, and he stood back to admire his work.

It looked lovely! Very bright and cheery and a place that he thought the Beezles would like to visit.

Uncle McBuzz then got into the big yellow van and drove to another garden where he'd heard there were a few tables and chairs being thrown out.
There were 5 tables and ten chairs, and Uncle McBuzz loaded them onto the van. A bit of polishing and a lick of paint would sort them out!

When Uncle McBuzz arrived back at the garden, Mrs Bee had put a windmill in pot at the door of the shed. She'd put little blue curtains on the window, and because she had scrubbed the inside of the shed, it smelt lovely and fresh.
Together Uncle and Mrs Bee scrubbed the tables and chairs and Uncle McBuzz painted them in different colours. There were red, blue and yellow chairs, blue green and white tables. It all looked very bright indeed!
Mrs Bee and Uncle McBuzz were very pleased with themselves.
Mrs Bee put a notice in the shop window. It read:

CLUBHOUSE
To all at Honeycombe Hill and surrounding areas.
There is now a Clubhouse at Honeycombe Hill.
Please feel free to visit.
Mon-Fri 5pm-7pm
Sat-Sun Closed.
All Welcome.
Activities include: Drawing, Reading, Games, Writing, and lots more!

Mrs Bee knew that as it was late in the evening, no-one would see the sign till the next morning. She couldn't wait!

To be cont...............
There were lots of vegetables growing there, but today Uncle McBuzz was concentrating on the potatoes.

He had already filled two sacks and had stood up to rub his back.
"Goodness! My back hurts!" Uncle McBuzz exclaimed.
Mrs Bee had come out with a cup of tea and a sandwich for him.
"There you go Uncle" she said, as she handed him the china cup and a plate of dainty little sandwiches.
Uncle McBuzz took the tea and sandwiches from Mrs Bee, and sat on a deckchair.
"Ah! That's better!" he sighed.

Mrs Bee was pleased that Uncle McBuzz was doing this task for her.
It was quite hard work, and she was finding it a struggle!

Soon, Uncle McBuzz had filled 4 potatoe sacks for Mrs Bee's shop.
"Oh thankyou Uncle" said Mrs Bee.
"No problem!" Uncle McBuzz replied cheerily as he waved goodbye.

Sometimes Mrs Bee washed the potatoes before selling them in her shop.
These potatoes were quite small, so she decided to leave them as they were. Bizzy entered the shop with her little shopping basket.
"Hello Mrs Bee. I've come to purchase quite a bit today. Would you mind helping me?"
Mrs Bee was glad to help. She liked to pick the groceries from the shelves.
Bizzy's list was quite long. She needed butter, milk, honey, bread, potatoes, oatcakes, marmalade, carrots, peas, turnip, leeks and fruit juice.

Mrs Bee put everything into Bizzy's basket and told her the total was four pounds and 20 pence.
Bizzy handed over the money and thanked Mrs Bee for helping her.
Ting! The little bell on the shop door tinkled as Bizzy let herself out and waved to Mrs Bee.

Bizzy began to peel her potatoes. She was going to make a potatoe and leek pie. As she peeled the skin from the first potatoe,Bizzy gasped with surprise. The potatoe was pink! She tried the next potatoe and it too was pink! What on earth was going on!?
Bizzy ran all the way to Mrs Bee's shop to show her the pink potatoes.
"Oh my goodness me!" exclaimed Mrs Bee. "I've no idea how this could have happened!. Maybe Uncle McBuzz will know".

Mrs Bee sent Buzzy to fetch Uncle McBuzz. Buzzy was after all the fastest flier in the garden.
Uncle McBuzz and Buzzy arrived back at the shop together, by which time a little crowd had gathered.
"Let us through!" shouted Uncle.
"Move aside!" shouted Buzzy.

Uncle McBuzz held the potatoe in his hand and studied it carefully.
"I think I may know what has happened here" he said.
"Do you remember the day that Rosie Rainbow tore her skirt? The bubbles landed everywhere and made the daisies all different colours.
I think that's whats happened! The pink bubbles have landed on the potatoe plot and hey presto! We've got pink potatoes!!".

Mrs Bee had never sold so many potatoes in one single day!
Everyone wanted to buy some, and visitors from the surrounding gardens came to buy Mrs Bee's pink potatoes. Soon, the four sacks that Uncle McBuzz had filled were empty!

Bizzy's potatoe and leek pie tasted delicious! Fuzzy would verify that, as she had been invited for dinner.
"Mmm. Delicious!" said Fuzzy.
"I know!" exclaimed Bizzy, and together they ate the delicious but strange looking pink potatoe and leek pie.

Have you ever tasted pink potatoes?

Earlier she'd been sweeping the floor and the broom had bumped the chest.

Mrs Bee opened the lock and began to pull items from the box.
There were knitting pins and wool, loose bits of material and sewing needles, and right there at the bottom was the dress.

Mrs Bee carefully unwrapped the dress from the tissue paper and held it up for a better look.
It was pink, with little blue flowers and a blue embroidered pocket.
It had a ruffled collar and tied with pink ribbons at the back.
Mrs Bee was sure that Bizzy would love the dress.
After all, Bizzy's colours were pink and blue and she must be tired of wearing romper suits all of the time!

It was different for Bazzil, Buzzy and Zubby. They were boys.
Bizzy was such a pink girlie girl, she really should have a dress.

Mrs Bee walked to the counter in her little shop and took two shiney pink ribbons from under the counter. She wrapped them in a little paper bag and put them in beside the dress.
Then she put on her coat and hat, lifted her bag, and headed to Bizzy's house.

On the way there, Mrs Bee met Uncle McBuzz.
"What's that you've got there?" he asked.
"Aha! It's a dress for young Bizzy. I hope she likes it!" Mrs Bee replied.
Unlce McBuzz rubbed his chin. It would be lovely for Bizzy to come to the shop and let everyone see her in her new dress.
He asked Mrs Bee to bring Bizzy back to the shop when she had put the dress on.
Mrs Bee smiled. She knew what Uncle McBuzz was up to!

Bizzy was making a jigsaw. She had ten pieces still to fit, and was just about to fit another when someone knocked on her door.

"Hello Mrs Bee! What a lovely surprise!"
"Hello Bizzy, may I come in?"
Bizzy stood back and waved Mrs Bee into the house,.
"What can I do for you Mrs Bee?" asked Bizzy.
"Well, I thought you might like this little parcel. Go on, open it!"

Bizzy looked puzzled as she sat on a chair and began to unravel the tissue paper.
The little bag with the ribbons fell to the floor.
"What's this?" asked Bizzy.
She opened the bag and clapped her hands with glee.
"Ribbons!? For me?"
"Yes Bizzy! Just for you!" said Mrs Bee.
Next Bizzy opened the tissue and when she saw the beautiful pink and blue dress she gasped!
"Oh Mrs Bee! It's beautiful!" she cried.
Bizzy held the dress against herself and danced around the room.
"It's absolutley beautiful!" she squealed.
Mrs Bee told Bizzy to go and try the dress on.
It fitted perfectly, and the ribbons were a perfect match.

Bizzy almaost cried when she looked at herself in the mirror.
She looked like a real girl now!
"Oh Mrs Bee thank you!" she cried.

Mrs Bee and Bizzy walked to the shop, and when they got there, all of Bizzy's friends were waiting.
Everyone cheered and clapped when they saw Bizzy in her beautiful new dress.
"Thank you! thankyou!" said Bizzy as she blushed furiously.

Now Bizzy looks as pretty as a picture in her pale blue and pink dress.
She only wished she'd got a dress sooner!

He was stacking his honey pots to return to Mrs Bee.
He could just about manage to pile them onto his wheelbarrow. Zubbys wheelbarrow was purple with yellow wheels. He had asked Uncle McBuzz to help him paint it, and together they had done a pretty good job!

Zubby slowly pushed his wheelbarrow out of the garden and along the little path which led to Mrs Bee's shop.
The sun was shining brightly and this made Zubby feel all fizzy inside.
Zubby liked the sun.

As he walked along, something shining in the bright sunlight caught his eye.
Zubby stopped to have a closer look. He bent down to where the shiney thing was lying and much to his surprise he realised it was a silver penny.
"Ooh! Where could this have come from?" said Zubby.
He looked at the penny, and turned it over in his hand. There was some writing on the penny and a picture of Queen Bee.
Zubby put the penny in his pocket and carried on his way to Mrs Bee's shop.

When Zubby arrived at the shop, Bizzy and Fuzzy were there, having a chat and a drink of lemonade.
"Hiya Zubby" said Fuzzy.
"Hi Fuzzy! Hi Bizzy" he replied.
"Look what I found!", and Zubby showed everyone the silver penny.

"Oh! that's lovely!" said Bizzy. "Where did you find that?"
"Well, I found it on the path on the way here".

Mrs Bee came to have a look.
"Zubby, I think you should leave the penny here. I'm sure it's very valuable. Queen Bee would be very interested to see this".

Zubby wondered what all the fuss was about. It was only a silver penny afterall. True, it was very shiney, and he'd never seen anything like it before.
Zubby gave Mrs Bee the penny, she'd know what to do!

The next day, Buzzy knocked on Zubby's door.
"Come quickly Zubby! Queen Bee is at the shop! Everyone is in a tizz as we've not tidied up or anything for her coming to visit! Come on!"

Zubby almost fell over as he pulled on his shoes. What a carry on!
When Buzzy and Zubby arrived at the shop, Queen Bee was waiting.

"Hello Zubby" said Queen Bee.
Zubby bowed, and shook her hand. Queen Bee was very important indeed.
"I'd like to thank you for finding this silver penny Zubby. It belongs to the palace treasury and we've been looking for it everywhere!"

Zubby blushed. He didn't expect Queen Bee to make such a fuss.
"As a reward for your honesty, I'd like to give you this". Queen Bee handed Zubby a huge basket.

"What is it?" asked Buzzy.
"Open it!" cried Bizzy.
Zubby thanked Queen Bee and waved goodbye. He then sat on the grass and removed the cover which was tied round the basket with yellow ribbon.
"Wow!" shouted Zubby. "Look at this!".
Everyone peered into the basket.
"Goodness!" said Mrs Bee "you are such a lucky Beezle!"

Zubby could not believe his eyes. There were little jars of honey in all different flavours, a new stripey suit with a badge on,a certificate of thanks, two jars of jam, some oatcakes and five little fancy cakes.
"Oh boy!" said Zubby "I can't wait to eat this!".

Zubby was kind, and shared with his friends the contents of the basket.
Except of course for the little suit of purple and lilac.
This was for Zubby alone!
Everyone was saying how nice it was of Queen Bee to give Zubby this gift.
Zubby was glad he'd found the Silver penny, and had done the right thing by handing it over to Queen Bee.

Have you ever found a silver penny?

Uncle McBuzz didn't take long to appear, and soon they were all piling into the van.
"I want a window seat!" said Bazzil.
Bizzy sat next to him.
"You'd better behave today Bazzil! Mrs Bee said that everyone would be brought home if there was any misbehaviour".
Bazzil huffed and puffed. "I'll do my best" he scowled.

The van chugged along the dirt track and out of Honeycombe Hill.
The funfair was only about 2 miles away, and Buzzy was already impatient.
"Oh I wish the van could go faster!" he said.
"Well" said Bizzy, "Uncle McBuzz is a very careful driver. He won't drive any faster than needs be". As Bizzy sat back in her seat, she smoothed her hair and tightened her ribbons. Today was going to be great!

As the van stopped at the edge of the field, the Beezles were already undoing their seatbelts.
"Oh look!" cried Fuzzy as she pointed to the Big Wheel.
Fuzzy jumped up and down with excitement.
Everyone got off the bus and Mrs Bee told everyone to stay in line and walk in an orderly fashion.

Chewy saw the candy floss stall and asked Mrs Bee if he could buy some. Chewy liked candy floss!
The other Beezles had toffee apples, which were lovely and juicy, with wooden sticks to hold them with.
Bizzy tugged at Uncle McBuzzs' sleeve.
"Please Uncle, can we go on the merry go round?" she asked.
"Of course!" said Uncle McBuzz.
The Beezles stood in line and Mrs Bee bought seven tickets.
Everyone climbed on, and Bizzy chose a rocking horse to sit on.
Bazzil was in the red fire engine at the driving seat, with Chewy and Philip sitting behind him.
Ting ting!
The man rang the bell and the merry go round began to turn.
Uncle McBuzz and Mrs Bee waved at the Beezles as they went round and round and round.

When the ride had stopped, they moved on to the Big Wheel.
"I'm a bit scared" said Chewy, and Zubby agreed.
"We'll just wait here and wave to you all" said Zubby.
Bizzy made sure that her safety belt was fastened tightly, and soon the big wheel began to turn.
"I don't feel well" said Fuzzy.
"I thought you liked the big wheel!" Buzzy replied.
"I do! I think I've eaten too much candy apple!" moaned Fuzzy.

Uncle McBuzz was watching Fuzzy. She didn't look very well at all!
He asked the man to stop the ride and let Fuzzy off.
"I'm sorry Sir" said the man. "I can't stop the wheel, it is on a timer".

"Oh dear" thought Uncle. Any minute now Fuzzy was going to turn green!
Soon the ride ended and Fuzzy was a little wobbly when her feet were on firm ground.
"Are you alright Fuzzy/" asked Mrs Bee.
Everyone had gathered round, very concerned.
"I'll be fine in a minute or two" replied Fuzzy.

Everyone sat on a bench until Fuzzy felt better.

Next, the group headed for the hoopla.
The man gave everyone wooden hoops, and they all had to try and throw the hoops so that they landed on a little peg.
If your hoop landed on a peg, the man gave you a prize.
"I've got one! I've got one!" cried Buzzy.
The man gave Buzzy a giant cuddly toy, which Bizzy thought was very beautiful. It was fluffy and white with a huge red bow tied round it's neck.

The Beezles went round every single stall and went on every single ride!
It had been a very tiring day, and soon it was time to go home.

As Uncle McBuzz drove the big yellow van back to Honeycombe Hill, Chewy and Buzzy and Zubby all fell asleep!
When the van stopped at Mrs Bee's shop, Mrs Bee had to waken her friends who were asleep.
They all piled into Mrs Bee's shop and had some warm milk and a nutmeg cookie.
Unlce McBuzz walked with each Beezle to their own little house, and everyone thanked him and Mrs Bee for a lovely day.

Have you ever been to the funfair?

She'd had it since she was a little girl and had looked after it well.
It was quite a large book, with a red leather cover and gold writing on the front which said "Bedtime Stories".
Now and then, Mrs Bee would visit the Beezles and read to them a story from her big red book.
The Beezles adored Mrs Bee's story book. The stories were always so exciting! Tonight, Mrs Bee had promised to visit at 8.00pm, and read a story to Bizzy, Bazzil, Buzzy and Zubby.

Mrs Bee thought she might read the story of Oona and Blub. The Beezles liked to hear the stories of Oona the Eskimo girl and her pet seal Blub!
Everyone was very excited as they waited for Mrs Bee to arrive that night. Bizzy had put on her white fluffy housecoat, as she felt a little chilly. Zubby, Bazzil and Buzzy didn't feel cold at all, but they did have slippers on.
Soon Mrs Bee arrived at Bizzy's house and everyone ran to the door to greet her.
"Hello Mrs Bee!" the Beezles cried.
"Hello everyone!" said Mrs Bee.
"Now, everyone brush your teeth and into bed. Then we can begin".

Soon, The Beezles were tucked up in their beds, ready for Mrs Bee to begin.

Once upon a time
There lived a little Eskimo girl called Oona. Oona lived in an igloo with her pet seal Blub. They did everything together and were very good friends indeed.
One day, Oona and Blub were tidying out their igloo.
"Look at all these bones!" said Oona.
Blub blushed bright red. He was very very guilty for leaving fish-bones lying around!
"I'm sorry Oona" said Blub and he hung his head in shame.
"It's alright" said Oona, "we can tidy them up together".
So Oona and Blub tidied and tidied till there wasn't a single fishbone in sight.
"Now, we're going to have to find somewhere to put these bones" said Oona.
"I know where to put them!"Blub squealed.
"We can take them as far away from here as we can walk, and them bury them in the snow!".
"Great idea Blub" said Oona, and off they went to bury the bones.

The snow was very deep and Oona had special shoes on to help her walk.
Blub sat on the yellow sledge with the fish bones, and Oona pulled the sledge along. Soon, they were tired and Oona stopped the sledge.
"I think we can bury them here Blub" she said.
Blub slithered off the sledge and together they began to dig a hole.
Then, Blub passed the bones one by one to Oona, who dropped them into the hole. When every single bone was in the hole, Oona and Blub covered the hole with snow.
"There now!" said Oona as she dusted her hands. "Job done!".

As Oona and Blub made their way back to the igloo, they met Pop the Polar Bear.
"Hello Pop" said Oona.
"Hello Oona" said Pop. "Where have you been?"
"Blub and I have been burying bones!" said Oona.
"Burying bones? what kind of bones?" Pop replied.
Oona laughed and put her hands on her hips.
"What kind of bones? Why, Polar bear bones of course!"

Pop look puzzled.
"Polar bear bones? where did you get them from?"
Oona clapped her hands and giggled at Pop.
"Oh Pop you are silly! YOU are the Polar Bear! It was fish bones we were burying!".
Blub and Oona rolled in the snow, kicking their legs in the air, and laughing at silly old Pop.
Pop began to laugh too, and soon the three friends were throwing snow at one another and having lots of fun!

Oona Blub and Pop like eating fish. Do you?

Bizzy was feeling really down, and it was all because of her wellington boots.
They kept her feet dry, She supposed they looked nice enough, but what she really really wanted was a pair of RED wellington boots!
Bizzy had seen cousin Beebee wearing a pair a while back, and oh how lovely they were. Beebee had told Bizzy she'd got them from a gypsy in a caravan.
Bizzy knew there was very little chance of her accquiring a pair of the red wellingtons for herself, but oh how she yearned for them.
They were so bright and colourful, they really looked so cheery!

Fuzzy was drawing a picture. It was such a horrid day that she'd decided to stay home and read some books and maybe do some colouring in.
There was so much to do indoors if you really thought about it, and Fuzzy was having a really good day.
Just as she was about to use her red pen, there was a knock at the door.
Fuzzy answered to see Bizzy standing with rain dripping from her nose.
"Oh hello there Bizzy. It's terrible weather today! Come in!"
Bizzy stepped into the hall and sighed.
"I just wondered if you'd like to come to Mrs Bee's shop for an orange juice and a slice of cake" said Bizzy.
Fuzzy didn't really feel like going anywhere at all, but she could see that Bizzy looked very sad.
"Sure" said Fuzzy. "I'll just get my raincoat and umbrella" and with that off she went to the cupboard to fetch her things.

As the girls walked to Mrs Bee's shop they could hear Buzzy, Bazzil and Zubby having fun in the rain. They were jumping in the puddles to see who could make the biggest splash.
Zubby had mud splashes on his face and he looked like he had measles!
Bizzy and Fuzzy waved, and carried on to the shop.
As they entered, the little bell tinkled and Mrs Bee appeared from the back.
"Hello girls! What terrible weather we're having today" said Mrs Bee.
"Hello Mrs Bee " said Fuzzy and Bizzy.
"Now give me those wet coats and I'll hang them up, and then we'll get you a nice hot drink". Mrs Bee took their coats and soon they both had a glass of hot orange and toasted pancakes on a plate.
"Mmm. These pancakes are lovely Mrs Bee" said Fuzzy.
Mrs Bee smiled at Fuzzy.
She was concerned about Bizzy. Bizzy was normally very chatty, but today she was quiet and was picking at her pancake.
Wiping her hands on her crisp white apron, Mrs Bee sat at the table with Fuzzy and Bizzy,
"Are you feeling alright today Bizzy?" asked Mrs Bee.
Bizzy nodded and sipped at her orange juice.
"Are you sure?" Mrs Bee asked.
Bizzy sighed again.
"Well, I feel so silly but I can't stop thinking about red wellington boots. I saw cousin Beebee with a pair last year, and I've always wanted some, but I know I'll never have them!" Bizzy replied.
"It's not that there's anything wrong with my pink wellies, I just like the red ones".

Mrs Bee was deep in thought. Bizzy was a very kind Beezle, and was always doing things to help others. She never asked for anything and was happy to help everyone on Honeycombe Hill.
When Uncle McBuzz called by that evening, Mrs Bee would be sure to have a word with him.

The next morning Bizzy was up bright and early. She stretched her arms and yawned. She gave the birds some breadcrumbs, brushed her teeth and her hair, and skipped all the way to Mrs Bee's shop. Bizzy was running low on honey and milk. Mrs Bee would have those things in her shop.
As Bizzy entered the shop, Uncle McBuzz was chatting to Mrs Bee.
"Good morning!" called Bizzy.
"Good morning Bizzy! Uncle McBuzz has something for you" said Mrs Bee.
Uncle McBuzz handed Bizzy a brown paper parcel tied with string.
"I hope you like them"said Uncle McBuzz, and he winked at Mrs Bee.
Bizzy tore open the brown paper, and much to her surprise there inside the paper were the most beautiful pair of shiny red wellington boots!

"Oh Uncle McBuzz! How did you know?" said Bizzy.
"Well now" Uncle McBuzz laughed. "I have a special radar that beeps when Bizzy the Beezle wants something!" and he winked at Mrs Bee again.

Bizzy was delighted! She put the wellington boots on right away and danced a little jig right there in the middle of the shop.
Mrs Bee and Uncle McBuzz laughed.
"Thankyou so much!" Bizzy exclaimed, and in her excitement she skipped all the way home without the honey and milk!

He wasn't like all the other pirates at all.
His ship was gold and red with huge white sails and he sailed the seas because he liked the water. Really he did!

One day as Paddy sailed his ship, the sky became very grey indeed.
The wind was whistling and the sea was becoming very choppy. Paddy knew that there was a storm ahead. He prepared to ride the waves and was having fun as his ship bobbed up and down on the crest of the waves.
Suddenly, a huge wave swept over his ship and turned it upside down!
The waves tossed Paddy's ship around like a toy and Paddy clung to the handrail as tightly as he could.
"Ooo-er Jim m'lad!!" Paddy shouted as the salty water splashed on his face and soaked him to the skin.
Paddy could feel his hands slipping on the wet rail, and before he could stop himself he had been thrown from his ship into the angry ocean.
"glug, glug, glug" gulped Paddy as the water went in his mouth.
He tried to swim but the waves were too strong and soon Paddy had no strength left to do anything but float!

Paddy woke up and looked around.
"Where am I?" he said out loud.
He could see trees and flowers, grass and birds, and oh! goodness, there were little houses too!
"Eeek! I'm on dry land!" Paddy cried. He stood up and took off his boots.
"Splosh! Splash!" Paddy emptied the water from his boots onto the grass.
He took off his shirt and wrung it out then hung it over a branch to dry.
Paddy looked around him. He cupped his hands to his mouth and shouted as loud as he could.
"Helllllloooooo! Is there anybody here!!!?"

Philip Frog almost jumped right out of the pond! What on earth was all that shouting?
Fuzzy peeked round from behind a tree. Who was making all that noise?!
Buzzy and Bizzy who'd been helping Mrs Bee to stack the honeypots stopped and stared in the direction of the voice.
"Hellllllllloooooo!!" Paddy called again.

Everyone raced to the edge of the woods. This was where the noise was coming from.
"Oh look!" squealed Bizzy as she pointed at Paddy. "A pirate!".
Everyone stared in amazement at Paddy.
"Who are you?" asked Buzzy, sticking his chest out and trying to be very brave.
Bizzy hid behind his back. Pirate's were bad! Bizzy was afraid.
"I'm Paddy the good pirate" said Paddy. *My ship was caught in a storm at sea, and somehow I've landed here. Where is this place I'm standing in?"
Bizzy pulled herself up to her full height and said in a very small voice,
"This is Honeycombe Hill. Did you say you were a good pirate?"
Paddy threw back his head and laughed a hearty chuckle.
"Yes me hearty! I am indeed a very good pirate". He stood with his hands on his hips and Fuzzy could not stop staring at his big black boots with the shiney silver buckles.
"Now then!" said Paddy. "Can anyone help me to get out of here? I really must find my ship before the bad pirates get it and steal my belongings"

The Beezles didn't know what to say, or what to do,.
"I'll go and find Uncle McBuzz" said Bizzy. "or Mrs Bee" and with that she scuttled away.

Uncle McBuzz was snoozing in his comfy armchair at home. He'd had his lunch and decided to have a nap.
"Uncle McBuzz! Come quickly!" cried Bizzy as she knocked on his door.
Uncle McBuzz rubbed his eyes and put his spectacles back on his nose.
Was he dreaming? He was sure he had heard someone calling his name.
"UNCLE MCBUZZ!!!" called Bizzy as she knocked on his door.
"Bizzy my child! Whatever is the matter?" asked Uncle as he opened the door and saw Bizzy shaking in her shoes.
"Oh Uncle McBuzz there's a pirate at the edge of the woods! He said his ship was caught in a storm at sea and he's somehow ended up here! On Honeycombe Hill!!"
"Now now Bizzy, calm down. Let me just get my jacket and we'll go and see this pirate."
Uncle McBuzz thought Bizzy must be seeing things. A pirate here in the garden at Honeycombe Hill? Never!

As they approached the woods, Bizzy and Uncle McBuzz could hear Fuzzy and Buzzy, Philip Frog and Zubby all giggling.
Pirate Paddy ws telling them some stories of his adventures at sea.
He was a funny pirate!

"Hello Sir" said Paddy when he saw Uncle McBuzz approaching.
Uncle McBuzz tipped his hat and smiled.
"Hello young man. I believe your ship was caught in a storm?"
"That's right m'lad. Ive landed here and I don't know how!" Paddy replied.
"I really must be on my way. I have to save my ship from the bad pirate's."

Unlce McBuzz rubbed his chin.
"Right then. If you climb on my back, I can fly you to the ocean and we can search for your ship"

Paddy slapped his leg. "That's the stuff! So when can we go?"
"We can go right now if you wish" said Uncle McBuzz.

Paddy said his farewells to the Beezles and their friends, and waved goodbye as Uncle McBuzz flew out of the garden.

"Oh he was very nice!" said Fuzzy.
"Yes.! And his stories were funny too!" said Buzzy. "I hope he comes back some day soon. I liked him"

Uncle McBuzz flew as fast as he could over the seas until he saw a red and gold ship bobbing about on the water.
This would make for a great bedtime story when he got back to Honeycombe Hill.
As he left Paddy the pirate standing on board his trusted ship, Uncle McBuzz couldn't wait to get back to Honeycombe Hill and tell the Beezles all about it.

Maybe Uncle McBuzz will tell all you boys and girls the story too!!

This meant that she could have FOUR friends to sleep over!

She also knew that Mrs Bee would be coming to read them all their bedtime story, but none of her friends knew this, it was going to be a surprise!

Everyone began to arrive about 6 o'clock. There was Zubby, who had brought with him some snacks of mini-honey pots, and Buzzy who had brought some board games to play, and last but not least there was Bazzil, who had brought some comics.

As they all settled down to play a board game, Bizzy told them all that she had a surprise for them.
"Oooo! what is it?" asked Bazzil.
"Well" said Bizzy " you'll all just have to wait and see!"

Bizzy and her friends were having alot of fun at the sleepover. They were having a pillow fight now!
"What's that noise?" asked Buzzy.
"What noise?" said Bizzy.
"There it is again! There's someone at the door!"

The Beezles all went to see who was knocking at the door, and there was Mrs Bee!

"Oh let me in!" she cried "its very windy out here!"

Mrs Bee took off her coat and hat and sat in a chair at the table.
"Well, I hope you have all been behaving yourselves!" she said.
"We have! we have!" shouted the Beezles.
"Right then, everybody brush your teeth and get into bed, for tonight I am going to tell you all a story" she smiled.

"YAY!" shouted everyone. Mrs Bee had a book from when she was a little girl, and the stories in this book were really great!.

Everyone snuggled under the covers of their own little beds and Mrs Bee began to read.

"Once upon a time, a long time ago, there lived a little Eskimo girl.
Her name was Oona, and she lived in an igloo with her pet seal Blub.
Oona's igloo was made from ice. She wore a big white jacket which was very very padded and cosy, and it had a big hood with white fluffy fur round the edge. When Oona wore her hood up, you could hardly see her little face! Oona had black hair, cut in a fringe and it reached her shoulders.Blub the seal had become her friend and they went everywhere together! Blub was white and grey and always had a silly grin on his face. One day, Oona and Blub went fishing. They walked over the icy waters till they came to a small hole. Oona had a little fishing rod, which she used to catch fish with.
Oona lowered the fishing line into the hole, and she and Blub sat patiently waiting for a fish to catch. Eventually, Oona felt the fishing rod tugging and she pulled sooo hard that she almost fell over! They had caught a fish! Hooray! Oona and Blub set off for home. Blub liked fish and so did Oona. When they arrived back at Oona's igloo they cooked the fish and ate it from a shell with their fingers. "Did you enjoy that Blub?" asked Oona. "Yum!" said Blub and rubbed his tummy. Oona laughed. Soon it would be time for bed and they would wrap up in sheepskin blankets and be warm and safe from the icy cold wind. As they settled down to sleep, Oona heard a noise. What could it be? Oona lay very still, listening till she heard it again!
"Blub!" cried Oona "did you hear that noise?"
"Yes I did!" replied Blub. "lets look and see what it is!"
Together they crept to the igloo door and peeped out. It was very windy and there was snow everywhere! Then Oona saw a shape in the distance. It was Pop, the polar bear!
"Oh Pop!" cried Oona, "you gave us a fright!"
Pop said how sorry he was, and told them to go back to bed.

Oona and Blub went back to sleep and in the morning they planned to have another adventure. Can you guess what it will be? "

Mrs Bee put the book down, and tucked everyone in. The Beezles had all fallen asleep during the story!

She had lots of blue dresses with various patterns on them. Her favourite was powder blue with a frilly white collar and blue ribbons which tied at the back.

Today, Milly was busy watering her plants. She had many little potted plants on her kitchen windowsill and she really enjoyed looking after them.
"Tra la la la la la" sang Milly.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Who could it be? Milly put down her watering can and wiped her hands on a red and white checked tea towel.
She opened the door and much to her surprise, there stood Fuzzy Wuzzy Bunny.
"Hello Milly" said Fuzzy
"Hello Fuzzy, what brings you here today?" asked Milly
"Oh I was just passing by and thinking it had been a while since I last saw you. I thought I'd stop and say hello!"
Milly was delighted! It wasn't often she had a visitor, except of course for Mr Frog. Mr Frog popped into see Milly most days on his way to the pond.

"come in! come in!" said Milly, as she bustled around Fuzzy and made her very welcome.
Milly put the kettle on and set up a tray with cups and saucers,a sugar bowl and teapot, and two silver spoons.
The cups, saucers, sugar bowl and teapot all matched and were of white porcelain with beautiful blue birds painted on. The teaset was very delicate. In fact perfect for a little mouse like Milly.
The kettle boiled and Milly added the hot water to the teapot along with some herbal tea. She then produced a little white jug from the fridge, filled with frothy white milk.
"Would you like some of my homebaking?" asked Milly.
"Oh yes please" Fuzzy replied.
Milly went to the cupboard and took a gingerbread loaf from it, which she then cut into slices and spread with butter.
"Here you are" smiled Milly.

Milly and Fuzzy sat for a very long time talking about all sorts of things.
They talked about the new swing park on Honeycombe Hill, which Milly had yet to see. They talked about the day that Zubby got sick when he'd eaten too much honey, and they talked about Mr Frog.
Milly liked Mr Frog. She hoped that one day he would ask her to marry him.
"Oh Milly!" squealed Fuzzy. "I didn't know that you liked him THAT much!"
Milly giggled and blushed.
"Well we've been friends for a very long time, and he does visit every single day. I think Mr Frog would make a very good husband indeed!"

Fuzzy couldn't wait to tell Bizzy. Bizzy was her best friend and they told one another everything. Bizzy would be just as surprised as Fuzzy, to learn that Milly liked Mr Frog.
Soon it was time for Fuzzy to go home. She thanked Milly very much for the tea and gingerbread, and gave her a hug as she left.

Fuzzy couldn't run quickly enough to Honeycombe Hill! She wanted to tell Bizzy all about her visit to Milly's house.
Maybe they could set up a meeting for Mr Frog and Milly to go on a date?!
"Oh a wedding would be lovely!" sighed Fuzzy, as she hugged herself tightly, and as she knocked on the door of Bizzy's pink house, she knew that Bizzy would love a wedding too!

She was a very busy Beezle indeed.
Tomorrow was the Cake Competition day. This was a special day for all the people in the surrounding gardens. Everyone who entered the competition had to bake the most amazing cake! The winner of the best cake would be presented with a trophy and would have their picture taken.

Mrs Bee sieved theflour into a big bowl. She then added some eggs, one at a time, and beat them into the mixture with a big wooden spoon.
Next she added some butter, then some sugar, and a dash of lemon juice.
She tasted the mixture in the bowl.
"Mmmmm" said Mrs Bee. The mixture was delicious if she said so herself!

Just then, Bizzy and Fuzzy called at the shop.
"Good morning Mrs Bee! What are you baking?" asked Bizzy.
"I'm baking the most special cake for the Cake Competiion!" Mrs Bee replied.
"Can I have the spoon to lick please?* said Fuzzy.
Mrs Bee smiled. Goodness me, if she let Fuzzy lick the spoon, soon everyone would be queing up for a taste of the cake mixture!
"Well, you can put a little on your finger. I dont want you being sick!" said Mrs Bee.
Fuzzy took some of the mixture and put it in her mouth.
"This is lovely!" she exclaimed.
"Now shoo! girls. I've got work to do!" Mrs Bee laughed.

Over the hedge, Henrietta Hen was mixing her flour and eggs. Henrietta was very competitive. She wanted her cake to be the best cake ever, and she wanted to win the competition more than anything else.
If Mrs Bee from Honeycombe Hill won again, Henrietta would be very upset!

Patricia Ladybug was entering the competition too. As was Milly the fieldmouse and Betty the cow.
Doreen the sheep was busy baking too. This was going to be fierce competiion!

Mrs Bee poured the mixture into two round tins. She then placed the tins in the oven and checked the time on the big clock which stood in the little hallway.
"Now then. I've got cream to mix, icing sugar to mix, marzipan flowers to make and a nice piece of ribbon to find." Mrs Bee muttered to herself.

Bizzy and Fuzzy were making daisy chains.
"Let's see who can make the longest chain" said Fuzzy.
Together they sat in the warm sunshine making daisy chains as long as your arms!
"Do you think Mrs Bee would like to use this for putting round her cake?" asked Fuzzy.
"Great idea!" replied Bizzy. "Let's go see if she thinks she could use them".
Fuzzy and Bizzy set off to Mrs Bee's shop. When they arrived Mrs Bee had her head in a cupboard mumbling and tutting to herself.
"Now where did I put those ribbons?" she asked.
"Mrs Bee" said Bizzy.
Mrs Bee almost jumped out of her skin!
"Oh Bizzy! You gave me such a fright! "
Bizzy giggled. "Sorry Mrs Bee. We didn't mean to startle you. We wondered if you would like to use these daisy chains to decorate your cake with?"
Mrs Bee clapped her hands with joy!
"Great idea! Oh goodness, my cake will look so lovely!"

The girls sat down to watch. Mrs Bee had already taken the cakes from the oven and had left them to cool on a wire rack,.
She picked up the bowl with the cream and began to spread it onto the two sponge cakes with a big flat knife.
Then she lifted one of the sponges and sat it on top if the other.
Next, she covered the top of the cake with lemon drizzle icing and ran a fork across it to make it look fancy.
"Oh it looks lovely Mrs Bee" said Bizzy.
Mrs Bee smiled and took the daisy chain. She tied it round the edge of the cake and then asked the girls to fetch her some more daisies.

When Fuzzy and Bizzy returned, Mrs Bee place some of the daisies on top of the cake. It looked absolutely wonderful!
"You've done a great job Mrs Bee" said Fuzzy.

They headed towards the swing park, where Uncle McBuzz had set up a long table with a snowy white table cloth on top.
Patricia Ladybug and Henrietta Hen were already there with their cakes.
Patricia had made a carrot cake and Henrietta had made a chocolate sponge.
The cakes all looked so scrumptious!
Soon, Milly the fieldmouse, Doreen the sheep and Betty the cow came along with their cakes.
The table looked splendid!

Mrs Bee's cake stood out. The daisies and the marzipan buds had made it look really sweet and summery.
Uncle McBuzz moved slowly along the line of cakes, tasting each one as he went.
"Mmm. Delicious! Mmmm. Lovely!" he mumbled as he went along.
This had to be the best job ever! Tasting cakes!

Uncle McBuzz sat on a chair and rubbed his chin. All of the cakes were lovely to look at, although Mrs Bee's looked the prettiest.
All of the cakes had tasted great, but Mrs Bee's sponge was lighter and fluffier than anyone else's.
Uncle McBuzz stood up.
"I hereby declare the Lemon Drizzle cake by Mrs Bee, the winner!"
Everyone clapped and Mrs Bee covered her face with her hands.
She couldn't believe it! Three years in a row she'd won the cake competition!

Henrietta Hen sniffed and shook Mrs Bee's hand "Well done Mrs Bee" she said.
One by one, everyone congratulated Mrs Bee.
Uncle McBuzz took her photograph for the news page of the Honeycombe Hill Gazette and then presented her with the shiney silver trophy.

"Oh this is the part that I like best" whispered Zubby, and Fuzzy giggled.
Uncle McBuzz then cut all of the cakes into slices and laid them on fancy plates.
Everyone got to taste a little of all the different cakes, washed down with some of Milly's homemade orangeade.

"Mmmm. I love cake competition day!" said Zubby and everyone laughed till their sides ached.

She was very excited today as the Ladybugs had invited everyone on Honeycombe Hill to join them for a picnic.
The Ladybugs lived just inside the woods next to the garden, in a place called Ladybug Lane.
If you counted, it was exactly five steps from the edge of the garden to the leafy spot where the Ladybugs lived together in their very small house.
Patricia was the eldest ladybug. Then there was Geraldine, Alice, Helen ,Andrina and Nicole.

"Hello Bizzy!" called Mrs Bee.
Mrs Bee had told everyone to meet at her shop and then they would all set off to join the Ladybugs and enjoy the summer sun.
"Hello Mrs Bee! Is everyone here?" asked Bizzy.
"Just waiting for Zubby" Mrs Bee smiled,. Zubby was always late!

Soon everyone was ready to go and off they set towards the woods.
Bizzy had picked some daisies to give to the Ladybugs and Mrs Bee had brought some of her home made lemonade.
As the Beezles entered the woods, all that could be heard was the chattering of the Ladybugs. It was always so noisy at Ladybug Lane!

Everyone chatted and hugged, and then they all sat down to the most amazing feast ever! The Ladybugs knew how to do a picnic, it was truly scrumptious! Patricia Ladybug began to tell a story of a time long ago when Ladybug Lane had been full of little houses and lots of Ladybug families. Patricia was very sad that so many of the Ladybugs had gone, and now there was only six left. Patricia said that maybe some day her relatives would come back and they could build another community, but till then she was happy to invite the Beezles to join them now and then.

Mrs Bee nodded. "I remember when the Lane had at least twenty houses and many many Ladybugs".
Geraldine began to cry.
"Whatever is the matter Geraldine?" asked Patricia.
"I'm sad that there are only six of us left" said Geraldine.
"Oh dear! I didn't mean to upset you Geraldine" said Patricia as she cuddled Geraldine.
"We've got all our friends here on Honeycombe Hill and you know that they can visit whenever they please"
Bizzy told Geraldine that she and the other Ladybugs should come into the garden more often.
"We've got a new swing park and everything!" said Bizzy.
The Beezles all agreed that the Ladybugs should visit at least once a week and then they could all play together.

Mrs Bee and Patricia smiled at one another. Thank goodness for that!

Soon it was time for the Beezles to go home to Honeycombe Hill.
They thanked the Ladybugs for a lovely picnic and then waved goodbye.

"Remember to come to Honeycombe Hill next week!" called Zubby.
"We will!" cried the Ladybugs, and Geraldine skipped all the way back to their little house.
Geraldine was now a happy little Ladybug!

Mrs Bee dried her hands on her crisp white apron and opened the door of the shop.
"Bizzy! can you come here please?" Mrs Bee called.

Bizzy ran to Mrs Bee.
"We are having so much fun Mrs Bee! Thanks again for organising the play park! What's wrong?"
Mrs Bee patted at her apron. "Well, I can't see Zubby anywhere at all and I wondered if you knew where he was?"
Bizzy looked round at the play park. Sure enough, she hadn't noticed till now, but Zubby was not with the rest of her friends.
"Strange" said Bizzy. "Shall I go and check his house?"
Mrs Bee nodded. "That would be great Bizzy. I'm a little worried. It's not like Zubby to be indoors on a day like this"

Bizzy ran quickly to Zubby's little purple house. She knocked on the door and waited. She knocked again and still Zubby did not open the door.
Bizzy peered in the window. There was no sign of Zubby at all. She called his name. "Zubby! Zubby! open the door" and still no-one came.
Bizzy was wondering what to do next, when suddenly she heard a faint little groan coming from Zubby's house.
She tried the handle of the door and it opened. Bizzy went inside and opened the door to Zubby's bedroom.
There he was. Under the duvet and moaning and groaning.
"Zubby! what's wrong?" asked Bizzy.
"I ate too much honey I think and my tummy hurts. Ooh!"
Bizzy did not know what to do.
"You stay right here Zubby and I will fetch Mrs Bee. She'll know how to help you!"
Bizzy ran as quickly as she could to tell Mrs Bee about Zubby's sore tummy.
Mrs Bee didn't look surprised at all. "I knew he had done something silly like this!" she exclaimed when Bizzy told her the news.
"He had 5 jars of honey in his shopping basket yesterday. I'll give him some of my special medicine and see if that helps"

Mrs Bee put on her coat and placed a bottle of her special medicine into her little wicker basket. Off she went to Zubby's house with all of the Beezles hurrying behind her.

Mrs Bee pushed open the door of Zubby's house, and went into the bedroom. Zubby was curled in a ball groaning very loudly indeed!
"Now now Zubby" said Mrs Bee. "You will have to sit up and take some of this medicine. Come on now, it will help you to get better"

Everyone stood in the room and watched as Zubby struggled to sit up, and Mrs Bee poured some of the medicine onto a silver spoon and then into Zubby's mouth.
"Yeuch!" squealed Zubby "it tastes horrid!"
Mrs Bee tucked him into bed, and turned to the other Beezles.

"I hope everyone here has learnt from Zubby's mistake. Too many snacks can make you sick" and she turned and went back to the shop.

Bizzy,Buzzy, Fuzzy and Bazzil all told Zubby that they hoped he felt better soon. They told him that as soon as he felt better they would all be waiting for him at the play park.

Zubby gave a weak smile. "I can feel the medicine working already"

Bizzy smiled and closed the door gently. What a silly Beezle! Imagine eating all that honey in one day!

Have you ever eaten too much at one time?
I hope not!

Today was the day that the new swing park was to be built at Honeycombe Hill.
As she tied her apron strings round her little chubby waist, Mrs Bee hummed a tune while she busied herself in the kitchen.
She heard the sound of the delivery truck driving along the path .

"Morning!" called the driver. "Delivery for Mrs Bee"
Mrs Bee stepped outside and showed the workmen where everything had to go.

There was a slide, a roundabout, four swings and a climbing frame. There was also lots of sand and a fence.
It was going to be quite a day!

The workmen began digging holes and fixing the climbing frame to the ground with cement. Next, they did the swings and the roundabout.
The Beezles had come to watch the work going on, and the noise from the machinery was making everyone's ears hurt!
Buzzy shouted above the noise "I'M HUNGRY!"
The other Beezles nodded in agreement and they went inside Mrs Bee's shop and sat at a little table.
"Phew" said Zubby "my ears hurt! It's so noisy out there"
Bizzy agreed and said that it would be worth it in the end as they would all have somewhere to play now.
"I can't wait to see it finished" said Bazzil.
"I know!" replied Bizzy "I'm going to ask the workmen if we can help to paint the fence. What colour do you think we should paint it?"
"I say red!" said Bazzil.
"Blue!" shouted Buzzy.
"Hmm. I think yellow" said Mrs Bee. "that way it will stand out nice and brightly for all to see"
Bizzy agreed. "I'm going to ask now!" and she skipped out of the shop towards the workmen.

"Hello" said Bizzy to the workmen. "Can we help to paint the fence?"
"Of course!" said the workman with the blue dungarees. He looked like a jolly man and had a big moustache and red cheeks.
"We will let you know when it's time to start the painting" he smiled at Bizzy.
Bizzy hugged herself. She loved to paint!

Soon the swingpark was complete. The fence went all the way round so that the swings and slide, roundabout and climbing frame were fenced off from the rest of the garden.
The Beezles each had a paintbrush that the jolly workman had given them and they began to paint the fence.
"This is fun" cried Bizzy. "I like the colour yellow. It's like the sunshine"
Mrs Bee smiled. Yellow was indeed a very sunshiney happy colour.

Soon the painting was complete and everyone stood back to admire their handywork. The new swing park looked very grand indeed!
Mrs Bee and the Beezles waved goodbye to the workmen and everyone ran to the park.
Bizzy was having great fun on the slide, Bazzil was on the roundabout, and Buzzy and Zubby were swinging as high as they could.
"Oh thankyou Mrs Bee!" called Bizzy as she whizzed down the slide for the hundredth time.
The swing park had been built with the money from the fete and now Mrs Bee could watch everyone having fun as she worked in her little shop which overlooked the park.

As she sat in her little rocking chair, humming her favourite tune, Mrs Bee felt happy that the Beezles had their very own swing park at last!
